When the battery runs out, when the GPS is broken, you can count on a map and compass. USGS offers free topographic map downloads or you can order them printed on waterproof paper. Never head into the wilderness without a sure way home.
At Alaskan Survival Gear, we want you to be prepared for your next amazing adventure. Print out a free topographical map from the USGS website or order a waterproof map directly from them. Batteries can die in a phone or GPS, but a reliable compass and accurate grid tool (like the ones we sell) will get you home every time.
Here we share educational material to help you learn how to use a map and compass or to sharpen skills you already have.
Visit the USGS Topographical map website and find your next destination.
